It’s been several years since any new images have been added to the website. If anyone has any they’d like to have highlighted, please email to webmaster. They must be at least 1200 pixels wide and should be croppable to the shape of the header images, three times as wide as tall, losing the top and bottom. It would be nice to get some of Timberlake and Avon Regionals and our new young stars.
In case you are not aware, although pictures are mostly randomly displayed, they can also be assigned to a page, so I will choose the best ones submitted for the header of each of the records pages that I just updated.

Make your plans now to visit Virginia this summer and compete or support our water skiers at the RADAR SKIS Eastern Regionals, hosted by Timberlake Water Ski Club. The club is hard at work to make your experience a great one. Our lake has been host to three-event tournaments regularly since the mid 1990s including one previous Regional championships and numerous Virginia State championships. We have a thriving Junior Development program with yearly camps and clinics. We welcome you to our little bit of ski paradise.
This event is made even better thanks to the support of our Gold sponsors: RADAR SKIS, Drainfield Solutions, Peace Love & WaterSkiing, Lohr’s Lake Water Skiers, pillar2post Digital Media and Concierge Pet Medicine. Contact TG Powell if you’d like to add your name to the list.
There’s plenty to do in the area around Timberlake. Washington DC with the Smithsonian Museums and an abundance of history and culture is less than a 2 hour drive to the north. Head south and within an hour you’ll reach Kings Dominion Theme park and the state capitol, Richmond. Continue on for another 45 minutes and you’ll reach Colonial Williamsburg, where you can experience a living history of colonial days. If you just can’t get enough skiing, then make your way to Peace, Love & Water Skiing, just over an hour’s drive to the west of Timberlake. Plan ahead as I’m sure Corey will be busy that entire month. Visit skitimberlake.com for all the information. We’ll be updating the site regularly.
Our juniors had a great showing at the 2021 Eastern Regional Championships in Avon, CT. There were 59 junior competitors. The Avon Old Farms Skiers put on a fantastic junior’s party onsite at the Pond, with treats and activities including pizza, snow cones, popcorn, water mats, trampoline, movie night, and lots of fun for everyone. The raffle raised close to $800 for the Eastern Region Junior Development Program.

How did we get to mid-July so fast? I hope you all have been enjoying these summer days fully as they whiz by.
We’re proud to claim Corey Vaughn as an Eastern Region Skier. He does so much for the sport and always gathers great talent to coach at the Easter Region Junior Development overnight clinics.
As we ramp up to Regionals and Nationals, it’s a great time to pop in to peaceloveandwaterskiing.com for a tune up. Topher and Collin have been doing an amazing job in the boat, and Kuz is returning over a month early! He’ll be back on July 27.
Important Notice to all Skiers for Pre-Regional Tournament this weekend – July 9, 10, 11.
Due to the ongoing weather and the approach of Storm Elsa, we have made the difficult decision to CANCEL the tournament for this weekend. The Pond in Avon is just not skiable.
With this change, practice for Regionals will begin on Saturday, July 17th to accommodate those who want to get time on the water before Regionals.
We are planning to upgrade our September Tournament to Class E&L to make up for this cancellation.
You can request a refund for this weekend or you can use your entry fee for this weekend to cover the Tournament in September. If you want a refund, please e-mail Dana Hinman at Dana@hinmaninc.com
As Spring approaches, I thought it would be nice to put together some resources to help with your planning and preparation for the Best Water Ski Season EVER!
It’s never to early to tune up that body for water ski season. Find great information and tips on the USA Water Ski website, like THIS ONE.
Plan for some water ski coaching. Take a trip to the region’s best water ski coaching and training getaway. Corey Vaughn has created an amazing ski school at the Bum Pass Water Ski Club. Check out his blog and schedule a session HERE. A bit further south in North Carolina you’ll find another haven for water ski coaching at Coble Water Ski Camp. April Coble and Chris Eller run a fantastic operation. More info HERE
Check HERE for tournament listings so you can plan your weekends and potential travel. New tournaments are added all the time, so check back periodically for updates.
The Gordon Hall Celebration is set for May 22/23. More information HERE

The new AWSA and IWWFRule Books are now out. Be sure to check them out. Some of the rules that used to be in the AWSA book now reference the IWWF book, so if you’re an official especially, you’ll want to download and print both. A summary of AWSA changes is available HERE
