Susie is a tough eighteen year old three-event skier who’s barely 5 feet tall and weighs in at 110 lbs, but jumps over 150 feet and tricks over 7,000 points. She’s ranked NUMBER 1 in the Female Junior World Standings in Jumping and Overall, and seventh among ALL female jumpers.

Susie is from Sparta, Va., a small village of no more than 100 people, where you must drive to the next town to get a hamburger, but have 3 choices as to where you slalom, trick ski, or jump. Susie’s brother Benny trains with her on their private mill pond in their front yard.

She was compared to a hackney pony running with the thoroughbreds by Water Skier Magazine, but she beat the thoroughbreds and won the Nationals. Water Ski Magazine described her as the most sought after college recruit in the country, and she set a new National Collegiate Jump record on her first jump in Collegiate competition.

Susie has won the Nationals in each of the three events, and in overall. Her best events are Jumping and Trick Skiing. She won the Open Women Jump event in 1998. She was featured as a Hot Shot in Sports Illustrated for Kids, and has been on the United States Junior Team for the last three years.
Susie crushed the National Jump Record twice in 1997 with distances of 146 feet and 151 feet, compared to the previous record of 139 feet. She won the Junior Masters Jump Title in 1998, 1997 and 1996.

Susie's "good luck charm" is Sherman,

Susie and Sherman
a bearded dragon from Australia, where some of the best jumpers (except Susie) come from. Sherman has been to the US Open, Nationals, Regionals, and the WOW Tour.
slalom and trick      Susie loves to coach skiing, from tots on trainers to her grandfather, and all ages and skill levels inbetween. She graduated fourth in her class at Caroline High School. The administration and teachers helped her train in Florida by sending her assignments to her. They "didn’t let school get in the way of her education." She currently attends Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida.
