Waterski Computers. Preconfigured
video-capable computers available for sale. New
Hardware Features and Pricing effective June 2007. For
owners of units shipped in 2003 through 2006, the
2007 season update module is now available for downloads from the link
immediately above. Help yourself.
WSTIMS 3.54, updated as of June 2007, is the
current WSTIMS release available at this time.
Note for 2008 Season -- there
are no new AWSA Rules affecting scoring for 2008, and so this
latest WSTIMS release 3.54 may continue to be used to score
AWSA tournaments through the spring of 2008. An updated
WSTIMS release should be out sometime later this spring, which will
include the new tables needed to score tournaments with 09 sanction
prefixes which begin in late August. That new release will
also implement the timing rules for the new IWSF 3-segment jump
timing course. Until that new release becomes available, users
with class L or R Jumping events should print and follow the jump
timing tables which can be found in the 2008 edition of the IWSF
Rulebook.
Important. This
latest release 3.54 corrects some issues that were found in the
previous spring 2007 release 3.53 -- it is important for
anyone having the earlier release 3.53, to update
to this new release 3.54, to be current.
WSTIMS release 3.54 introduces several new features:
- New features for reporting Officials Credits make this
process easier than ever before. And the resulting
electronic credits file will travel directly to HQ for
immediate posting, along with the performance data for the
Ranking List.
- Post-Tournament reporting processes are being streamlined.
USA Waterski is working towards eliminating all paper reports.
Instead, WSTIMS will automatically include the official scorebook
file along with the Skier and Officials data feeds. And
for the remaining reports, those can now be submitted in the form
of Adobe Acrobat Documents, that you can complete using the free
Adobe Acrobat reader. If you have an older version of the
Adobe reader, you may need to download and install the latest
version in order to work with the Digital Signature features --
Adobe reader version 8 is recommended as of the date this note
is being posted.
- The Navigable User Guide introduced last year has been
greatly expanded. Most of the "Under Construction" areas
in last year's edition have now been completed. And the
"Casebooks" sections on the most common tournament formats are
now included as well. This is shaping up into a very
valuable resource. And it includes a succinct "What's
New" section, that will help you quickly become competent with
all of the new features.
- All new 2007 rules changes have been incorporated.
- Important Note. Three
different installation modules are now available. Be sure
you get the proper version for your particular computer and
situation. See the notes with each version listed.
- Also Important: Vista.
Testing last year with the Microsoft Windows Vista operating
system identified some flaws (bugs) with the original releases,
which keep WSTIMS from functioning correctly. This was
reported to Microsoft. We are pleased to report that the
recently released Vista Service Pack 1 update, has corrected
this problem. So any Vista users out there may now use
WSTIMS successfully, after installing this Service Pack through
Windows Update. If you are uncertain whether any given
Vista machine has SP1 installed or not, you may check that by
right clicking the "Computer" icon on the desktop, then choose
Properties. The Windows Edition box at the top of
that properties display window will show Service Pack 1"
if that has already been installed. If you do not see
SP1, you will not be able to run WSTIMS successfully until you
update to SP1 first.

For use outside the USA, see the section on Host Federation
Code in the new User's Guide, and also the file FEDTABLE.TXT,
which you can find in the \WSTIMS\WSDOCS\ folder, once you've installed
the software.
The All-New Navigable WSTIMS User's Guide explains the many new
features and capabilities of this latest version. The What's

IMPORTANT TIPS FOR DOWNLOADING AND INSTALLING
–
1. The download will fail if you don't use the "Save to
disk" option. If your browser is set to automatically
execute files, you will have to change your browser setting to enable
the Save File option.
2. Three different WSTIMS installation modules are now available.
Be sure you get the proper version for your particular computer and
situation. See the notes with each version listed.
3. For MS-DOS or Windows 3.1 users: You do not
want to have the wstims35.exe installation file try to install itself
onto a floppy disk, or whatever other external removable media device
you might bring the installation module in on. It must
be installed to your hard drive, in order to run properly later.
You can use a floppy or other removable external member
device to transfer the installation file from one computer to another,
but your hard drive must be the default drive when
the installation file is actually being run. One way you can
accomplish that is by copying the installation file onto your hard
drive (anywhere is OK) and then running it from there. Alternatively,
you can open a DOS “C:\>” prompt, and then run it from the external
device (floppy or whatever) with the command “A:\WSTIMS35”
(or substitute the applicable drive ID letter for A.
– just remember that you must keep the hard drive
(C:\) as the default (prompt) drive when you do so. The same
guideline applies to the installation of any of the other self-expanding
.exe files that you may download from this section.
4. The above caution does not apply to the
wstims-full-353.exe or wstims-353-pt1/pt2.exe installation modules
(for Windows 95 or later) -- these versions can be executed from
anywhere: local hard drive; CD ROM drive;
floppy disk; or other external removable memory device.
5. Once you have the file(s) - check the file size(s).
You should find each to be identical to the exact size (in bytes)
listed below. Double click, run, or execute the downloaded
files to expand/install them, following the cautions noted above.
- wstims-full-354.exe
– Release 3.54 - for Windows 95 and later (1,665,448)
Last revised 6/05/2007.
Windows Installer version, for installation on PC's running Windows
95 or later -- contains program, tutorials, and a new Navigable
User's Guide.
IMPORTANT !! The
above-referenced single installation module has grown to a size
that is now too big to fit onto a standard 3.5" floppy disk.
Consequently, if the process you will go through to install WSTIMS
on your intended destination machine involves transfer via floppy
disk, then you will need to use the following two-step installation
alternative instead. Each of these two following modules will
fit onto a separate floppy disk; then install these as two separate
items --
- wstims35.exe
– Release 3.54 - for MS-DOS and/or Windows 3.1 (1,370,880)
