Lauretano, a native of Morris, Connecticut, is a member of the U.S. Junior Water Ski Team. She lives and trains in Winter Garden, Florida and graduated from the prestigious Crenshaw School in Orlando, Florida in January. She will continue her education as a Freshman at Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida in the Fall and, as a member of the Florida Southern College Water Ski Team, she will compete at the collegiate level.

The Number 1 World Ranking for Alex Lauretano culminates a year in which she had a perfect score for the U.S. Junior Water Ski Team at the Can Am Games in San Marcos, Texas in September. In that competition between the United States and Canada, she finished first in the Jump event, as well as first in Slalom and first in Tricks. Her perfect score helped the U.S. win the team title at that international competition. In August, Alex won the Jump competition at the 2005 U.S. National Water Ski Championships at Palm Beach, Florida in the 18-and-under division.

Alex Lauretano – National Champion, International Champion, and now Number 1 in the World!

In addition to her Number 1 World Ranking in the Jump event, Alex has also achieved rankings of Number 2 in Slalom, Number 3 in Tricks, and Number 2 Overall on the official world ranking list that was released today.

Alex is sponsored by MasterCraft Boats, Connelly Skis, and Girls 4 Sport active wear apparel. She is currently preparing for the 2006 tournament season.
