R Regional Records to be Established
At the Winter 2002 Council meeting, the membership expressed strong
support for the establishement of R records, while also keeping the
class C & above records. To set baselines for the R records there
will be a period of time for skier to submit performances achieved
at E, L, or R tournaments which they might not have submitted previously
because a higher performance at a Class C tournament was already in
place. Council & membership endorsed this in concept, but council
has not yet drafted or approved necessary language.
Thus, for the current year, it is important that any pending future
R records get required documentation now so they can be approved as
R records when and if council ratifies the final process & language
- expected at Summer 2002 Annual Meeting at the earliest.
Going forward, if a new R record will be submitted from a Class E,
L or R tournament, signature of the Technical Controller will likely
be required on the Records Application Form. We also advise skiers
to obtain Chief Judge, Scorer AND Technical Controller signatures
on their skier's personal performance record in the event they have
a superior Class E, L or R performance that may not exceed existing
Class C records, but that could be the best benchmark R performance
in the Region. Contact Roger
Hammel if you have questions.

New Procedure for Posting Scores
Online
Due to staff changes at USA Water Ski and concern about potential
hacker attacks the scores will not be available from the tournament
schedule like last season. Thanks to Michael Shepard, and some special
scanning software he is making available to us, we will be able to
post scores on awsaeast. Procedure is as follows. Chief Scorer uses
the WSTIMS - Multi-Round Scorebook (by Group) function to make a copy
of the CONDENSED SCOREBOOK (Input S for separate NOPS then C for Condensed
Scorebook. Note: In the Hardware Setup you may have to set the Printer
Type Selection to None - Reports to Disk.). The condensed scorebook
will be saved by WSTIMS as a file named with the sanction number of
the tournament followed by CS.HTM The Condensed Scorebook is different
from the Full Scorebook because the Member ID numbers are not included.
We do not want to post member ID numbers on the internet.
Email the condensed scorebook file as an attachment to ShepMJR@speakeasy.net
The file will be scanned, posted to Mike's website and will become
available from 2002 and 2003 Scores on the top left of the awsaeast.org
home page. Thanks to Mike for making this possible!
