Notice of Eastern Region 2011 Winter Meeting

The Winter Meeting of the AWSA Eastern Regional organization will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2011. The meeting will be held at the Embassy Suites Valley Forge Hotel. Here is the contact information for the hotel.

Hotel Rooms are available at special rates ($117) on Friday, January 7th through Sunday, January 9th. The cut off date for this rate is December 23, 2010. Make your reservations now.

As we discussed at the meeting last year, we will hold one, combined meeting for Council Members and general members of the organization. The single, combined meeting will start at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 8th. Lunch for all attendees will be served starting at Noon. The cost for lunch will be borne by the Region and you can join us for lunch IF you notify Marie Baker that you will be there. You need to notify Marie Baker that you will be there for lunch on or before December 23rd. We certainly want to feed all attendees, but we need to provide a count to the hotel, so please notify Marie so that you can be included in our lunch plans. I am very pleased that George Vosburgh and his Regional Tournament Organizing Committee have submitted a bid to host Regionals at Pangaea Puddle in Canajoharie, New York (near Albany, New York). I will forward the bid documents to you under separate cover. We will review these documents at our Regional Meeting.

At this meeting, we will also select / appoint officials for the 2011 Eastern Regionals and the 2011 National Water Ski Tournament. If you are interested in serving in an official capacity at one or both of these events, please respond to this e-mail to notify me of your interest.

On Sunday, January 9th, we will hold clinics at the hotel for anyone who is interested in attending. Please notify me if you are interested in a clinic and tell me what clinic you need -- Judges & Scorers, Drivers, Safety.

FROM THE PENNSYLVANIA TURNPIKE AND POINTS NORTH - Take exit 326, Valley Forge/King of Prussia. After going through the toll booth, take exit 328A, West Chester/202 South. Follow 202 South for approximately 3 miles to the Chesterbrook Blvd. Exit. At the top of the exit ramp, make a right, the hotel entrance is on the right.
